Installation
Installation, solo exhibition “Monotone Voice” is exhibited in residency program in Edmonton, Canada. I focused on freedom of existence of bulky waste at random on the streets and trash scattered on everywhere in the overwhelming vast scenery. How is the scenery before our eyes made? I tried to capture the moment when the coincidence is getting into the inevitable by photographs, videos and sculptures.

I depict a net of the pizza box sold in the convenience store with colored pencils, cut it out and build it. In 'Hot to go', the process that the fake completed pizza box ends up in a garbage by being run over by cars. The fake pizza box made carefully is run over by real cars and becomes a garbage obviously. It visualizes a blurry boundary between the false and the real.

In 'Cooking', the printed ingredients are cooked : rinsing them with water and sauteing them with butter. The surfaces of the image printed on the paper change their colors by cooking. Steak is cooked or paper is burning. The image goes back and forth between the real and the false.

Ghosts
2012
Photograph on used clothes
460×690×580 mm

A picture of many second hand clothes hung on the tree and lid by a streetlight and the actual clothes of the picture are on display together. Because of the strong wind in Edmonton, Canada where I lived, I often saw clothes hang from branches of trees. In spite of just a cloth, the strange presence like a human shaped slough look as if it is a ghost. An event happening by chance is exaggerated and an image which evokes a thing and its chance.
