'Skater' is a Video work of street skateboarding with a pizza box in Edmonton, Alberta CANADA. Street skateboarding tricks indicate what we have surrounded by appropriately. The street skateboarders focus on the unrealistic scenes and the back scenes we receive blindly because they are taken for granted. It is the recovery of the tactile reality; you can feel and get the blind scenes just only by attacking the structures existing as materials you see but actually don't realize. In this work featuring the skateboarders' approach to their cities, you can visualize the area by performing tricks with the pizza boxes to the blindly accepted and unconscious scenes.
This video work shows in a scene from an arbitrary drama, stuffs not related to its story are personified and played aggressively as if they were puppet shows. The man approaches therelationship between the stuffs demanded to be responsible for having the story by him and the stuffs not related to the story and stays away from the relationship to emphasize on having no relations, which that shakes the relationship. Just like that we are in the story unconsciously makes it difficult to separate us from the story and to see things as they are, I try to achieve neutral viewpoint to get lost when they are personified and taken in the story.
